~Pillows, an Anniversary, & a Reminder~

I hope everyone is doing well, I thought I would stop in and let you guys see some pillows that I have gotten lately.  I bought some of the pillows and I made some of them.

The first set of pillows that I got are these two pillows that I got at Arnett's Country Store.  Stacee Droit made them from an old coverlet and stuffed them with rags.  I placed them on a bench next to my very first salt glazed crock.  I have been wanting to collected salt glazed crocks for a long time and finally decided to do it!

These next two pillows on in an old laundry basket that is displayed on top of a cupboard in the master bathroom.  I made the big pillow from some blue ticking material that I had.  The little pillow was found at an antique store.  It is made from an old coverlet.

The next set of pillows, were made by me.  I really like how they turned out.  I have added some Christmas touches to some of the others I have made and plan on selling them at our Christmas show which will be held in November.

I found the pillows that are sitting on the settle in the master bedroom at Simply Country Treasures which is located in Lebanon, Illinois.  I have been wanting to find some blue pillows for the settle to tie in the bedding on the bed.

Yesterday, Jeff and I celebrated our 10th anniversary.  We had a wonderful day.  It is so hard to believe that it has already been ten years.  I feel so blessed to spend my life with such a wonderful guy!

~More Early Finds~

As some of you know, I have been on a quest this summer to find more early items for our house.  I have found some wonderful pieces and with every piece I find, I become more and more in love with early pieces.  One day, I would like our home to be filled with early items, but I am trying to learn to take one step at a time!

This past weekend, Jeff and I were able to find three more pieces to add to our ever growing collection of early items.  The first piece we found is a wonderful early drop leaf table.  I love the worn finish on the table and I am currently using it as a sofa table in our keeping room.

I also found the early brown stool that is on the top of the table.  Both of these items came from American Harvest in Paducah, Kentucky.  Eventually, I would like to replace the books that are on the table with early leather books, but like I said before, "One step at a time"!

I found the tin light that is on the table at The Olde Homestead in Mt. Vernon, Illinois.  It is tin and it is handmade.  I thought it was the perfect addition to the table. Peyton refused to move while I was taking these pictures.  I guess he thought I should be taking pictures of him...LOL!

I also found this old coffee box this past weekend at an antique store.  I have been looking for one of these for a long time and I had my eye on this particular one for quite some time.  I placed it in the kitchen.

All in all, I think it was a very fruitful weekend.

~A Little of This & A Little of That Once More~

There has not been a whole lot going on around here in the last few days.  We have just about finished all the fall items that we will be offering on our Internet show, so I have been trying to relax.  I have recently found a few new items for our house, so I thought I would share those with you today.

The first items I found is the wonderful tin lamp.  I love how primitive/Colonial it looks.  I found the light at The Olde Homestead in Mt. Vernon, Illinois.  I placed it between my new Johnston Benchworks chairs in the sun room.  I think it was the perfect addition!

Another item that I recently found was this early herb caddy.  I found it at an online offering that Arnett's Country Store was having last month.  I really like it and placed it on the island in the kitchen

I also received these wonderful whisk brooms from a great facebook friend, Patrick Blake.  I love them and I placed them on an early bread board that I had sitting on the Hoosier cabinet in the basement kitchen

We are gearing up for our big Internet selling on my blog sometime in early September.  A big announcement will be coming soon.  We will be offering fall cross stitched samplers (like the little guy below), fall stitcheries, and fall pillows.

Of course, this little guy has been tea stained and framed already.  If you would like to be on our mailing list to get email updates about our shows and the items we are selling, please email us at yesterdayoncemoreprimitives@hotmail.com.

The fall 2012 issue of A Primitive Place & Country Journal magazine is arriving at homes all over the country!  I received mine a few days ago and it is wonderful!  I know that you will love it!  I love the cover of this issue!  Of course, I say that with every issue...LOL!
