~Little Birdhouse on the Prairie~

A few days ago, Jeff and I paid another visit to my favorite primitive shop, The Olde Homestead in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. While we were there, I found this wonderful log cabin birdhouse made by Rachel Engel. I love it! I decided to put it on the front porch to add a touch of primitive to the front of the house. Take a look!

So, what do you think?

Thank you for visiting Yesterday Once More. I appreciate you stopping by and I hope you will continue to come back as often as possible. Don't forget to look for Yesterday Once More on facebook. I would love to see you there too!

Hi Dan,
I love it!!
Looks great on your wonderful porch.

I have an obsession with putting bird houses in my yard.
Some of them, were just for decoration but the birdies didnt care. I noticed they have pecked out the openings so they could fit inside. :)
I dont mind, I love the thought of them actually getting to use them.

*I was down your street the other day. Everything looks amazing!!
Pictures are gorgeous, but your home is even prettier in person!!

Thanks for sharing!

It's perfect. I just went to a local shop and bought the latest issue of A Primitive Place. I've been in the throes of moving so I don't have my own subscription yet...but I will soon. Love the mag! I read all of your articles with interest, telling my husband..."I follow his blog". I enjoy your blog quite a bit!

Your birdhouse looks great on your porch. I wish I had a front porch instead I have a huge back deck. It get's so hot it will burn your feet if you go out there barefooted. I love birdhouses also but have too many squirrels. Looking forward to seeing what else you do over the summer.

Oh...I love your log cabin birdhouse, Dan. I have one that is very similar to yours that my Grandfather made years ago. I would not part with it for anything. It means so much to me. I know you will enjoy yours as much as I do. It looks so good on your front porch!

Dan I can see why that is your favorite shop because of the pieces you find are really wonderful. Such a neat bird house and love where you have it setting.
Hope you had a great weekend

I think I love it, Dan! I've been looking for something like that! Does she sell them? It looks great on your porch and I can think of a few places in my house where it would look good too! :)

Have a great week!

The bird house is perfect. I especially love the door and windows. Even though they are just rectangles they add character. Also I love the red roof on top and the tin on the overhang. This piece has so much potential because you can decorate it with each season. Just think how cute it could be for Christmas.
