~Surprise # 1... My New Door Box~

In my last post, I told you that I had two surprises to share with you this week. My first surprise is the door box that I found for my newly painted front door.

I found the box at The Olde Homestead in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. They have several to choose from. They even had a black one, but believe it or not, I chose this one. It is a pumpkin color, and I really like how it looks with the door. The ladies at The Olde Homestead will also fill the boxes. They do a wonderful job, but I decided to fill mine myself. I have always wanted to learn how to do floral arrangements, so I thought this would be a good opportunity.

I first filled the box with some greenery that I thought looked like spring clover. Then I placed some yellow flowers in the box. To me, yellow just screams Spring. When everything is blooming out, it seems that yellow is everywhere. To give some additional height and add a natural element, I added some twigs to the arrangement.

I decided to secure the box to the door with a screw. I do not plan on moving the box so I felt safe using the screw.

I plan on changing the arrangement with the seasons. I cannot wait to do the fall and Christmas one!

So, what do you think?

Thank you for visiting Yesterday Once More. I appreciate you stopping by and I hope that you will continue to come back as often as possible. Don't forget to look for Yesterday Once More on facebook. I would love it if you would stop by. Never forget, "It is a wounded oyster that mends its shell with a pearl."

All My Best,
~Dan~

the size of the box is the right proportion!!! It would not look as nice had it been smaller. So glad you went with this size. It coordinates so well with the red!!!
