~That Old Black Magic~

I am starting to think that I have a serious problem. I started painting on September 4, 2010 and I haven't stopped yet. I wonder if there is a support group for people like me...LOL! My latest victim is the buffet that Jeff's dad bought for me last spring.

It has been in the kitchen in the basement since I received it. I always said I was going to refinish it or paint it. This past weekend I decided to paint it. Of course, I picked my new favorite color...black.

This is what the buffet looked like before.

Here it is now after three coats of Pittsburgh Paint called black magic.

After I finished it, I decided to move it up to the music room. I love how it looks with my new chair.

It is amazing what paint can do!

It turned out so well that I am having to calm myself down before I paint everything black. I already have two other pieces that I am going to paint black in the very near future so stay tuned.

The picture was out in the barn. I am telling you, I could have a store out there...LOL! Jeff brought it in for me and I think it looks great with the cabinet.

Thank you for visiting Yesterday Once More. I appreciate you stopping by and I hope you will continue to come back as often as you can. Never forget, "We love because it's the only true adventure."

All My Best,
~Dan~

Dan,
I'm with you...keep painting! I have the same weakness...I'm looking around and all my furniture is painted black. It gives you such a nice colonial look. Also, my cabinets were delivered today and will be installed Saturday. I'll send you pics!
Take Care,
Janice

Hi Dan,
I love the black buffet. It's wonderful the way the new paint has given it new life. I also love the white dishes, they are just perfect in the kids room.

It looks great -- It's amazing what a little paint will do! When you see something like that, it really makes you want to break out your own paintbrush and have at it! I'm sure there's something around here that I can paint...

It looks as though the buffet was made for that spot. It looks really nice in black.
If you ever do come across a support group for us painters you will have to clue me in on it!
Everything I've been painting has been red lately but I'm getting ready to paint some stools black.

Hi Dan...It is amazing what a little black paint can do!!!!! Looks great! I really like it with the chair but it is great with the rug, too. And the picture over the buffet is perfect with it...brings it all together. The whole setting looks very rich and pulled together.

That is really nice! I was wondering if you thought of accenting the knobs and the carved areas with copper or gold metallic paint?

It looks gorgeous, Dan! I love the fabric on your new chair too. I know what you mean about liking black furniture. I just did a post on that earlier this month. While I enjoy seeing all white homes I just can't seem to do without black in ours. I was surprised by the number of comments and emails from others saying they love some black in each room too.
