Yesterday Jeff and I went antiquing with our friend Jerrah. I thought I would share with you some of the treasures that I found. As always, I found some vintage Fiestaware...I know you are shocked...LOL! I didn't take pictures of the Fiesta. I have bored you enough with my passion for it.
I have started collecting some vintage toys that are more boy related. If we move, I would like to have one bedroom for a girl and one for a boy. With that in mind, I set out to find a few toys for boys. I put them in the basement guest bedroom and I think they look pretty good.
Jeff's parents found the old metal bucket for me. I put it in the sun room and really like the way it looks with the bait bucket and metal watering cans in that room.
When we picked Jerrah up, she gave me a gift for watering her flowers while she was on vacation. It was completely unnecessary, but I really appreciated her thinking of me. She gave me the sampler that says, "A good friend, like a quilt is both a treasure and a comfort." I love it and I put it in the basement family room.
I also wanted to brag on Jerrah a little bit. As most of you know we have taught together for four years. We are both Special Education Teachers. While we have been working together Jerrah has been working on her administration degree. She has worked really hard and put in a lot of long hours. Starting this school year, she will be the Special Education Director for our school district! This will mean that we will not be teaching together anymore, which makes me sad. However, I am so happy for her and I am so proud of what she has accomplished. Technically, she will be my boss. I have already told her I better get excellent evaluations...LOL! Jerrah is quite a bit younger than I am. I will not tell you her age, but she is in her twenties. What an accomplishment for her to achieve in such a short time! This speaks for her dedication and drive. I know that she is going to do a wodnerful job in her new position! Okay, I am finished bragging.
I will let you relax now and look at the pictures of my new treasures.

Thank you for visiting Yesterday Once More! As always, I appreciate you stopping by and I hope that you will continue to come back as often as you can. Always remember that dreams and dedication are a powerful combination. With both of these you can achieve anything!
All My Best,
~Dan~
Something you may not know about me is that I am a huge Carpenters fan. I love the way they sing and I have been interested in their lives for a very long time. While I was on blogcation, I read a new book called Little Girl Blue~The Life of Karen Carpenter it is by Randy L. Schmidt. If you are a fan of the Carpenters, get the book and read it.
I share this interest with my younger brother, Andrew. We spend many hours listening to Carpenters music and trying to find out as much information about them as we could. I was the best man when he got married six years ago. As part of my speech, I used Carpenter song titles. I thought I would share that section of the speech with you
I am sure that it seems like is was Only Yesterday that you were saying to yourselves, "I Need to be in Love." Everyone you knew kept saying, "It's Going to Take Some Time", but you were tired of playing Solitaire. You kept asking yourselves, "Where Do I Go From Here?" Then on an ordinary law school day, you saw a Sweet, Sweet Smile and your heart began to Sing. You attended many parties and dances and felt like you had a Superstar on your arm. You longed for the day that one of you would look at the other and say, "I Won't Last a Day Without You." Then on a cold January day, Those Good Old Dreams came true. He got down on one knee and said, "Because We Are in Love, Let Me Be The One." Now the day has arrived. You've walked down the isle and Ave Maria has been sung. You are finally man and wife and you are on Top of the World, but you keep saying to yourselves, "We've Only Just Begun.
So here is to Andrew and Amy, may your love only grow stronger and deeper and help see you through all the Rainy Days and Mondays. May you always guard against Hurting Each Other. From This Moment On, may your life together be long and happy. May you always find complete contentment and acceptance in each others arms. May your love always be Close to You until the End of the World. And no matter how old you get may you always whisper in each others ears, "Touch Me When We're Dancing."
Thank you for visiting Yesterday Once More. I appreciate you stopping by and I hope that you will come back as often as you can. Always remember the finest love stories come after the wedding not before.
All My Best,
~Dan~
Hey Everyone!
I have missed posting and missed visiting everyone's blog while I have been taking a break. When I left, I told you that I would have a lot to share with you when I returned. I never dreamed that I would be sharing this with you. My dream house, a saltbox built in 2001 that was featured in the January, 2004 issue of Country Living has been on and off the market for quite some time. It is located in the town I grew up in, which is about 11 miles from our house.
We decided to go look at it, and I fell in love with it. It would require a lot of work, but it is a challenge that I am ready to take. We have agreed on a price with the current owners, but we have to sale our house first. We are not committed to anything unless our house sales.
As you all know, I believe in the power of prayer. I would love for all of you to help me pray about this. I am not asking you to pray that I get the house. I am asking you to pray that God will lead us in the right direction. If this is not the right move for us, I do not want it to happen. I would really appreciate it if you would help me pray for God's will.
In the meantime, here are a few pictures. You will see why I fell in love.

Thank you for your prayers, and I will be sure to keep you updated. I am not officially back until Monday, but I wanted to share the news with you and ask for your help.
Thank you for visiting Yesterday Once More. I appreciate you stopping by and hope that you will come back as often as you can. Always try to remember that sometimes what you want is not what you need...in the end you will understand why.
My Best to You Always,
~Dan~
I just wanted to let you all know that I am going to take a little blogcation. We have been so busy this summer. Jeff has been going to school and I have been tutoring a little boy. Plus, we have been working on the house.
It is sad to say that summer is passing quickly and we have not had a chance to do some of the fun things on our list. So, I am going to take two weeks off to enjoy spending time with Jeff and the Ps X 3.
I didn't want anybody to wonder where I had gone. Just know that everything is fine and I will be back soon with lots to share with you.
Thank you for visiting Yesterday Once More! I appreciate you stopping by and I hope that you will continue to come back as often as you can. Never forget how special and cherished you are by so many people...including me.
My Best to You Always,
~Dan~
