Where's Dan?

When I started this blog, I wanted it to be a positive place to come. I wanted to try my best to alleviate the negative and to always focus on the positive. This desire for the positive helps to explain my absence. I have been in a funk lately.

I am much better now and have some news to share with you all. On September 16th, Jeff and I decided to no longer try to buy the saltbox house that we found back in July. It was a long hard decision that occupied my mind for quite some time. I loved the house, but it just didn't feel like the right thing to do right now. We have a beautiful house and I am very thankful to be blessed enough to live in it. It looks like we are going to stay here, and I have grown to accept that.

With that being said, I have some very big plans for our house. By the time I finish with it, it will not look like the same house. I want to try to keep all of the plans a secret for a little longer, but I will start revealing some of the changes in the weeks ahead. This also explains my absence. I have been very busy with the house.

I will not be posting as much as normal, but I will keep you updated on all the changes that are taking place.

Thank you for visiting Yesterday Once More. I appreciate you stopping by and I hope that you will continue to come back as often as you can. Always remember that sometime God doesn't give you what you want, he gives you what you need.

All My Best,
~Dan~

Good to hear from you, Dan! I really enjoy your posts... you're such an upbeat person and you always bring a smile.
Can't wait to see what you have in store with your wonderful home. I'm glad you're at peace with your decision regarding the other house... I know from experience that the time it takes to make a decision like that can weigh you down.
Blessings, Kimberly

You are a wise man...I did pray about it for you. I am thankful you listened to what is best rather than acting on desire.
Good luck with your new home plans. I will be delighted to see when you are ready to show us.

Dan...I am in the process of getting 2 floors refinished and all the moving we have had to do to accomplish just that is enough to make ME stay put. I don't think I could ever actually move all this stuff!

I am glad to hear you are doing a better and have chosen to update your already beautiful home...can't wait for pictures... Enjoy your time away from the blog, but just know we are gonna 'get nosy' pretty soon! Also, congrats on your promotion with APP!

Your positive attitude is what has brought me back so many times...
I do however understand what you mean. I too have tried very hard to focus on the positive things in my life, even when everyone else around me isn't. It seam as though some folks just don't want to be happy!
Can't wait to see what changes you have in store! Keep your chin up.... We're just glad you like to come and hang out with us!

I was hoping it was just school and writing for the magazine and other things keeping you away. I am sorry to hear about your funk but glad you are better. I understand how hard it must be to give up that dream - I will never live in my dream home either. So now I am quite excited to see what you will be doing to your already gorgeous home!! Oh the anticiaption!!

Dan,
Amen! You do have a such beautiful home, I can't wait to see what you are doing. I have some ideas though! ;) And I completely understand about "funks" we all go through them. Glad to hear you're getting things back on track and look forward to hearing more from you.

Dan,
I wish you lucky on your new journey with your home. I understand how hard yur decision was to make. Just one short year ago we were in the same place. we believed we found our dream home, though after soul searching and some major remodeling we realized we were already home! Good luck! OLM

Dear Dan, I have been checking your blog every day since your last update and so glad to hear that you are okay. As far as the funk goes? We all get in a funk every now and again. I usually just tell friends "I am feeling kinda funky lately" and they totally understand. Funny thing...when I tell people it sort of helps me feel better sooner - go figure. Anyway, I can hardly wait to hear what you are doing with your home. I know whatever it is, it will be gorgeous and filled with love. Take care.

Good morning Dan!
Well so that's what's been happening...completely understand. We all have those kinds of moods and we need to go with the flow...guess it's a cycle.
Everything works out for a good reason and the Saltbox was one of them.

Now I can imagine what's going on in your 'designing head'....I bet you are going to add a second story and make a grand ole saltbox out of your already beautiful home.
Glad you are back!!!!

Hugs, Karen

Hi, I often stop by your blog but never post, just enjoy reading it and looking at your photos. I fully understand your feelings about the house that was going to be your dream house, I have been through that 3 times and told myself to STOP, it will never happen, not in this life time anyway for me, so I have taken on the project of making my home my dream home, with little things like crown mouldings, wood floors, etc. etc. Paint, every few months a new small project inside and out. I think I know where you are going. . .have fun along the way, only you can make your dreams come true. I cannot wait to see the end results!

There's also the saying that when God closes one door He opens another; sounds like your plans for your fabulous home will entail the opening of many doors! Can't wait to see what you do, your house is perfect to my eye as it is but perhaps you are like my Uncle; he lives for the planning and the renovating and the decorating (all the while complaining repeatedly about the mess and the noise and to not EVER let him do it again!). Have fun and keep us posted! Deb
