Tweak a Little...

There is nothing better than doing a little tweaking. That is exactly what I did this past weekend. There is not a lot of light in our basement and I am always trying to get more light down there. I had a lamp and knew where I wanted to put it but didn't have a table to sit it on. This is what I came up with...

I had an old school desk, so I decided to use it as a table. When I sat the lap on the desk, it seemed too low. To raise the lap, I sat it on a old wooded box. This raised the lap enough. Then I decorated the desk/table with a picture of my grandpa, a star pillow, some old school books, a chalk slate, and some children blocks spelling out the word school. The extra light has helped and I think it looks pretty good. What do you think?

I hope you are enjoying your evening and are spending it with someone you love. Thank you for visiting Yesterday Once More!

All my Best to You,
~Dan~

Dan,
It looks wonderful and what a clever idea. I have a desk like that and it's actually from my elementary school that my bil got for me when they redid the school quite a few years ago. you've inspired me yet again.

Great idea, Dan!! I took your home tour- and I am so impressed with your home! It is absolutely the most comfy and cozy place, full of surprises and wonderful collections! Thanks so much for sharing it with everyone!

I also saw the pic of your two pups, sleeping on the top of the back of a sofa. Is that a habit for mini schnauzers? My grams' has always done that! (and you had better not ask her to get down, she's got some kind of attitude! It's HER world, she's just letting you stay for a while!)

Thanks so much for visitng, and for following. I like your blog so much, I am going to follow you also! I look forward to many more wonderful pictures and posts!

And one more thing, before I take over your whole comment section... My dad would be totally jealous of your barn!! Check his blog out sometime, The Barn Board, located on my side bar's updated posts section.
Happy Easter!! ☺

Hello Dan. What a perfect little corner you have created. The box brought that lamp up to just the right height! I could sit there and read one of my favorite books. Oh..no...Can't...I always fall asleep! LOL!
