Gifts My Mom Made Me

I am back!!! I have missed blogging and hearing from all of you. Thank you all for your prayers and concern during this difficult time. Thank you for the prayers that we would have a safe trip. Everything went as well as could be expected. My interview with the newspaper went fine. The article will be in the home section of the paper by the end of the week. The reporter took lots of pictures of the house, barn, and chicken coop. I hope the article turns out okay.

I thought this would be a good time to share pictures of some of the gifts that my mom has made for me over the years. This is just a few of the things she has made. I will share more pictures at a later time. I hope you enjoy looking at everything.

#1 Rag Rug
My mom made this rag rug for me about 10 years ago. I kept telling her I wanted one, so she made one for me for Christmas. I think she did a great job!

#2 Shelf

My mom and dad made this shelf for me for my birthday several years ago. The hooks are old spoons with the top of the spoon removed. They then bent the spoon to make hooks out of them.

#3 Small Cabinet

My mom and dad made this small cabinet for me for my birthday. I have it displayed on top of the kitchen cabinets. It is perfect to display little kitchen items. I love that they painted the inside blue. It makes it so much more interesting.

#4 Samples

My mom made these samplers for me a few years ago for Christmas. She also painted the frames that she put them in.

#5 Place mats

My mom made three identical place mats for me about a month ago. I put them on the island in the basement kitchen.

#6 Table Runner

My mom made this table runner for me for Christmas this year. After Christmas, I asked her to make the place mats above.

#7 Pillow

My mom made this pillow for me this Christmas to match a hook rug that I have.

I hope you enjoyed seeing some of the items my mom has made me over the years. As I said before, this is just a small sampling of the items. I will post more pictures at a later time. Now, do you see why I keep telling her she needs to sell her items. I really think people will buy them. I feel so blessed to have a mom who can make these types of things, and one who will take the time to make them.

Thank you for visiting Yesterday Once More. I appreciate your visit and all the wonderful comments you leave me. I hope that you are having a wonderful evening, and that you are spending it with someone you love. Always remember how special you are, and live every day like it were your last.

Take Care!

LOve your items, my favorite is the braided rug. I think if she decide to make more for sale, she will have a lot of clients.

Hi Dan
So sorry for the loss in your family. Yes indeed Mom sure is talented! I finally found the Country Sampler magazine! What a wonderful home! I adore the basement so much,my is just a old sore all and laundry room,no fun like yours. Your house seems so very big! Even though I'm so pastel and pink here I can really appreciate a beautiful home as yours! And they tease me I have collections? You win, you beat me! I'm just like you in the article how you know if any slight detail or item is off! I'll be off on Spring break a week and boy will I be checking out the house when I return! One last thing! I live in Indiana and am very jealous of your Hoosier cupboard in the basement. I have been searching for one similar to yours and no such luck. They have become too popular in the last year and horrible to find here. They were originally made in Indiana. Well need to run, have an assignment to finish! Take care,Lori

Wow nice to see you back after what must have been a hard trip. I love seeing all the treasures your mom has made for you. Having treasures from my mom, I know what a blessing they are. My mom is slowly slipping away and loosing parts of her memory and doing anything creative seems to have been lost right away, making my pieces even more meaningful. You are blessed to have a mom who can make heirlooms for you. I especially love the showing off stitchery. She is so right!

I hope the article turns out well and you are pleased and can share some of it with us in time!

Looks like your Mom is one crafty lady, and I
think her creations would sell.
If you do decided to open your own shop I'm sure you'll enjoy it. I know I do. It's a lot of work, but so worth it.
Your barn is perfect for one....I have barn envy!

Glad to hear you had a safe trip. Welcome back! I bought a copy of the CS Home Tour last night ~ your house is gorgeous!! I was telling my hubby that I kind of "know" you from talking to you on the computer and he thought I was crazy!! Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend!

You've got a talented mum! Yes,she should sell her creations. She can try on etsy. It's only .20 cents to list for 4 months! Not much expense to give it a try.
My mom just doesn't get the prim thing. She likes tacky, bright colored dollar store stuff and I like old, chippy, dark paint stuff. :)

I believe you ARE a decorator. You may not be getting paid, but you are decorating in a seriously great prim way!
